day 14 - small: healthy eating [TJ's MYOP]

31 Days Index

TJ's MYOP? What in the world? It's simply how I abbreviate "Trader Joe's Make Your Own Pizza" on our family's weekly menus. This is one of my favorites--especially as a pizza lover!! It's super cheap (the dough at TJ's is <$1.50!!) and much healthier than delivery or frozen pizza! With that said, I'm intentional about adding this to our menu for health and for pinching pennies...both achieved while still eating super yummy pizza! Woopwoop!

So here's how it's done:

TJ's MYOP
[Trader Joe's Make Your Own Pizza :)]

1. Buy the dough (regular white, whole wheat, or garlic & herb). I really like the whole wheat but the new garlic & herb is soooo good too. Garlic & herb is Marky's favorite!

I always flour the cookware that I'm using. Makes life easier.
Above is the garlic and herb dough. YUM!

2. Roll it out.

Use a rolling pin and flour that too!! (That's a trick from my sweet Mimi!)

3. Sauce it up. [Pesto/tomato sauce/oil and vinegar/BBQ sauce...whatever your little heart desires!!]

4. Add your favorite toppings!!

Marky's pizza (that you got a preview of here)!
He always goes for pepperoni. :)

My pizza!
[broccoli, mushrooms, kale, and onions]

5. Bake! You don't even need a pizza stone. We usually cook ours longer than the instructions say on the TJ's dough. 12-13 minutes has never been long enough for our pizzas.

Let me know if you try it! We love, love, love our TJ's pizza here at the Houston household!

  9. I didn't know TJ's has pizza dough for $1.50! We usually buy our dough from Publix and I think it's around $3 and they only have 2 flavors. We had MYOP last night actually, they're my favorite over restaurant pizza any day!

  15. Yum! That looks great! I'm a big fan of easy so we often do Flat Out wraps, pizza sauce, veggies and mozz....works great and very quick. Two of my pre-requisites for meals! :)
