Nancy met Santa for the first time on Friday at Blacklion. It was a day for lots of pictures and milestone memories. Blacklion has a room decked out with decorations and dedicated to plenty of photo shoot opportunities. Nancy and I took full advantage of that.
My favorite decor was these reindeer portraits. I kind of wish I had these in my house. How precious are they?! Such a fun holiday gallery wall idea.
I couldn't say no to this photo-opp ridiculousness.
Then we met the big guy. I thought Nancy was going to be cool/judgy, per usual. She hadn't reached that "stranger danger" developmental milestone yet...until she sat in the lap of a man with a big white beard. She didn't last two seconds before the tears started rolling. I have to own it and admit...I LOVE THIS!!!! The classic, hilarious, priceless Santa cry pic!?! It sets the bar high on the first of our family's annual Santa photos. Way to go, Nancypie! (Also -- Santa, you nailed it.)
The sweet staff at Black Lion suggested that I come in the picture to see if Nancy would smile. Nope. Not a chance. Homegirl was not having it. And I am obsessed with this cry action shot too. Bless her. (Santa, you nailed it again.)
Blacklion also had Frosty and a gingerbread man! How fun is that?! Nancy was less apprehensive and more amused about these guys (and their awesome jingle bells).
We tried with Santa one last time with Nancy's friend, Ford. She is clearly dismayed, but Ford helped her muster up some bravery and hold back the tears with his sweetness. (Santa...3rd time's the charm.)
To sum it up...Blacklion's Santa is the best (obviously). You don't have to fight the holiday mall crowd, and I can't finish this post without mentioning how kind their Santa is! He sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to the little babies on his lap and tells all the mamas not to feel bad or worry if their little one was crying. He's a total pro and absolutely captures the spirit of Old Saint Nick! So jolly. So wonderful. Thanks, Santa!
LOCALS -- y'all head to Blacklion for your Santa pics too! He'll be there from 1-4 on the Saturdays preceding Christmas. Their Facebook page has lots of good info (and amazing home decor). Cheers to supporting local business!
Last but not least, sweet April, thanks for getting us gals + babes together for this fun morning!
