Babymoon | Paris Airbnb

Paris...oh, Paris. After a few days filled with our loved ones in London, I knew I wanted Paris to be the more romantic portion of our babymoon. It is the city of love after all!

To me visiting Paris was a dream come true. I have literally dreamed about seeing the Eiffel Tower in real life since I was a little girl. After booking our babymoon, knowing that my dream was going to come true so soon was just beyond me! Call me crazy (I can own that), but my really bonkers level dream was to have an Eiffel Tower view from our room. Falling asleep to the sparking lights of one of the most beautiful, romantic landmarks on earth?! I'm pretty sure that's hard to beat.

I spent hours upon hours scouring hotel after hotel with an "Eiffel tower view." Not all of them had very picturesque views. Some you could just see the tip top of the tower (maybe) from one particular window. And some hotels with views wouldn't guarantee in advance that your booked room would actually have a view. But all of these hotels certainly did have one thing in common: they were all well over 200 Euros a night. Oh, and most with breakfast not included in that ca-ching price. Womp womp to that! Spending $500-600 on a hotel with a maybe Eiffel view with no breakfast included for two nights in Paris? Awwww naw, y'all.

...And then there was Airbnb. We landed an incredible flat for a much better rate than any hotel could offer us with a guaranteed beyond-my-wildest-dreams-fall-asleep-staring-at-the-twinkling-tower view. AND--in true Elise style--I even found a way to finagle another $25 off the price. What a stinkin' steal.

Do I have you convinced yet?! I haven't even gotten to the pictures...!

 Oh. Yes.

I know. It almost looks fake, doesn't it?! I was squealing.

A lovely little kitchen. We had our fair share of tea thanks to the electric kettle and a little supermarket (Dia) downstairs where we bought milk and some chocolate candy bars.

Over 200 Euros a night for a hotel room or all of this for less than $150 a night? No brainer.
Oh yeah...wine included. I was so tempted to sip but resorted to sniffing Mark's pours like a weirdo.

You know, just the view from the bed.
I kept telling Mark that (oceans aside) we might never, ever fall asleep to a view this good (and romantic) again!
It was truly breathtaking. Incredible. Especially at night with the twinkling lights.

Our 11th floor balcony looking down. The garden roof is actually the top of the grocery store below!

Balcony view by bright, sunny day

 Those Parisian rooftops and chimneys...swoon
And before I bombard you with bump pics in the future Paris Babymoon post...
Here is my 29 week bump pic from the balcony of our flat.

My napping hub (vacays are made for naps!) and the Eiffel Tower that twinkles on the hour every hour from 7pm-1am.
I cannot convey how gorgeous of a sight it was each night. Pinch-me-dreamy!
Even Mark woke up the first morning saying how neat it was to fall asleep watching the tower light up every hour.

Sigh...take me back to Paris! Also noteworthy to mention about this little flat: I felt so safe here! We had a key fob that opened the gate to the street entry and then again to the door of the building. The building was quiet and clean, and the elevators were obviously crucial with luggage and being almost 30 weeks pregnant and 11 floors up. And we were less than 100 yards away from the nearest metro station. And we were about that distance away from the nearest local (and very neighborhood-y, not touristy) patisserie too! There clearly wasn't anything not to love.

If you want to give Airbnb a try, you can register here and receive $25 off your first trip! Believe me, I saved an extra $25 too using one of these!! Every little bit counts! And of course you don't have to go to Paris to reap the Airbnb benefits. I mean...you could book a trip to Wrightsville Beach to visit yours truly! Just an idea. ;)

Cheers to Airbnb!
