Kitchen Inspiration, Progress, + Plans

Ohhh, kitchen fun. Putting my own personal flair and style into our home is just that -- fun. Our kitchen has some good elements and some not so good elements...so here's my thinking and what we're doing to reinvent it!

First things first: the inspiration...

White cabinets (check) and 3 different types of chrome hardware (which have been ordered!)

Source
Island inspiration...going to keep things white (duh) but I love this countertop and how clean and sleek the island is. Hopefully we'll create an island that can seat 4 stools? We'll see! I also love this backsplash.

Here's where we are currently...in the middle of a work zone. That's a cabinet in the middle of the floor in our den. There was a purposeless peninsula that we had removed and reworked back into the wall without jutting out anymore.

Current Kitchen To Dos:
Remove peninsula + rework cabinets
Order hardware + install
Take out laminate hardwood flooring and match original hardwoods
Remove fixtures + replace with recessed lighting
Move kitchen lightswitch from behind refrigerator to an actual wall :)
Buy a refrigerator

Here is the hardware I purchased. I am really excited about it. I love chrome hardware and I'm not ashamed. (#weirdo. It's fine.)

1. Chrome Knob (Amazon) | I used these in my kitchen in Wilmington! They're cheaper on Amazon than pretty much anywhere else (You're welcome.). They come in a pack of 10, 15, or 25. I'm using these on all of the upper cabinets and two long, skinny cabinets we'll have down below.
2. Aubrey Pull (RH) | This was my splurge. I fell in love with my sister's master bathroom hardware at her new house (#weirdo again. Owning it.), and I just had to have the same kind. I bought the 6" pull. We're putting these in the top middle (not on the sides!) of the biggest underneath cabinets--running parallel to the floor. Like in the inspiration picture (and like in sista's bathroom)! It's gonna be aweeessoommeeeee! Just wait.
3. Chrome Cup Pull (Amazon) | Also what I had in Wilmington. And also a the lowest price cup pull I can find! (And, yes, the quality is still wonderful!) These will go on all drawers.
More than you wanted to ever know about my kitchen hardware? Perhaps. :)

Kitchen Wish List (once we save up some more dollas!):
Add a 6' island/breakfast bar!
Replace countertops with marble looking granite (Best post ever about this. And while we're on this topic...any Charlotteans have suggestions for good slab yards around here?!)
With those new countertops, get an under-mount sink
Replace black appliances with stainless steel
Add backsplash
Pendant lighting over the island?

More pictures of the kitchen before:

Goodbyeeee shiny laminate that doesn't match the hardwoods at all, random/awkward peninsula, and light fixtures that just aren't my style. See ya nevaaaa! (And thank you for already having beautiful white cabinets and a chrome kitchen faucet that I will be keeping! Oh, and gray walls.)

Can't wait to show y'all progress as things keep moving along!
