Friday Favorites for the Home

ONE | Someone help. I have a throw pillow obsession. I wish there was a place for this in Pie's playroom!!! I mean...(wait for it)! It's from WAL MART. So, yeah. $14.97. (There is a cute coordinating I LOVE YOU pillow too. AHHHHH!)
Via

TWO | It's that time of year again...the time when Target releases their amazingly priced, amazingly cozy flannel sheet collection. These are the biggest steal, and they're perfect for the fall-winter seasons. My set from two years ago has gotten a bit worn, so now I face the challenge of choosing my favorite  to purchase for this year. Help?! My internal dialogue goes a bit like this: ooooooh these are so fun and festive, but my room is so peaceful and white and serene MEEEHHH WHAT TO DO? #thestruggleisreal (Oh!! Shipping at good ol Tar-jay is free for orders over $25, and if you order now using the code FALLHOME, you'll get an extra 10% off these lovelies.)
THREE | Y'all, my sweet and extremely talented friend, Whitney, gave Nancy the grooviest, bright, girly, fancy throw pillow (further feeding my throw pillow addiction). I can't wait to show you how it looks in Pie's playroom once I complete the room! In the meantime please go check out Whitney's company, Piper Collection. I have so many fall favorites! And winter. And spring. And summer, too. I could seriously have a Piper Collection throw pillow rotation for each season. Hey, a girl can dream! (Be sure to check out Piper Collection on IG and Facebook as well!)

FOUR | Okay, more Target. These placemats. Crushing big time. Gold + fringe + thankful...sigh. (And it's included in the 10% off with the same code as above, FALLHOME.)

FIVE | Last but not least...pumpkin perfection. Second only to my affinity for white pumpkins, this is the next best thing. :)

Fall Faves: Lace Hem + THE BEST Colored Jeggings

Lace hem is all the rage this season, and I'm all for joining in the fun. Marky took these photos for me during our little day date in his hometown. (This was a sneaky peek!) Put a long sleeve shirt under the sweater for more warmth, or leave it be for more breathability on warmer fall days. Oh, and white pants? Wear 'em after Labor Day. I love pairing these bright neutrals together. And the pants are my favorite. They have the material and appearance (and even the button) of white jeans but have no zipper. The best white jeggings on earth, hands down. My mom, sister, and I all have a pair because they're that good. I even wore them under my belly when I was verrrry (38 weeks) preggers!

I scored the sweater last year at Vestique. Since it's not available online, I've complied a list of my current favorite lace hem get-ups. I also rounded up all of the Hue brand leggings for y'all too. You cannot compete with their brand's quality, thickness, color selection, and price point. I'm really crushing on the olive pair (1) because I love green and (2) because they're on major markdown!

Team Tees

I am not big into watching sports. Only football. Okay, only NFL football. Aaand really only the Panthers. When I grew up, my brother wasn't born until I was 11. That means for a big chunk of my life {read "until Eric was old enough to attend football games"}, I was the "son" of the family. The perk to that? I was Dad's sidekick to all the games. As a result...GO PANTHERS!!!

Guess where I went last week? Siiiighhh, surprise. Only my favorite store, Old Navy. Sheesh. #predictable I was only returning some extra sizes from my online order, and then I saw this. With football season just around the corner, I couldn't resist.

Hope purchased the left, I purchased the right--that way we can swap out. Right, sista? ;) (Hope finally learned that the Panthers rock and games are fun.) Hope's pick has an awesome vintage feel (...even though I don't think anything Panthers can be super real vintage since they only started playing in '95. Unimportant.) My pick? I couldn't resist that blue! It's from the men's department, but who really cares? It's a t-shirt! If you look closely, it has that vintage-y look too with faux wash/wear on the panther (and on the letters too)!

Both of these tees are SO much better than your standard, stiff printed t-shirt. They're made from that soft kind of t-shirt fabric. You know what kind I'm talking about, right?! The cotton that's thinner and softer. Whatever it's called. So yeah...the vintage look AND soft feel got us both. Impulse buys. Worth it.

Old Navy makes these for more than just the Panthers, of course, so you can shop your team below. They also make these really amazing baseball tees (with football teams), but for some reason, they didn't include the Panthers in those. Rude. Because I would've gotten one.

Old Navy for the win...yet again. Go get em, Panthers!

Friday Falling Backwards

I'm changing it up a smidge this fine Friday! Here are five past fall faves that you might recall from posts past...! (P.S...Hi from England!!! It certainly feels like fall here. You can follow our trip across the pond via Instagram. Cheers!)

ONE | PAINT PEN PUMPKINS
Instead of carving, this is an easier, cuter, less messy way to make your pumpkins last longer!
{Original Post}
TWO | FALL RECIPE ROUNDUP
...because I'm crockpot obsessed, and one of my favorite things about fall is having chili in the crockpot while watching the Panthers play.
{Original Post}
THREE | BUNTING DIY
New sew bunting: certainly not fancy, but super easy!
{Original Post}
FOUR | SWEETS
Reminder: I was pregnant last fall and craving sweets in a cray-cray way. Oh, yes.
{Original Post}
{Original Post}
FIVE | FALL MANTEL
This is an extremely sub-par iPhone pic, but something as simple as switching out candles for pumpkins is a little move that makes a big, festive difference.

The Palm Tree Boutique + Giveaway

Good morning! Today I am so excited to dish with you about The Palm Tree Boutique. My sweet friend April filled a sista in on much of their awesome inventory, and I am thrilled to have added a Palm Tree Boutique piece to my closet!

Meet the Let's Ride Moto Jacket. It's the perfect fall staple, the perfect brown color, and (most importantly!) I know I'll wear it for years to come. Guess what? You can also grab this similar one in black. Of course I have to add that I'm 100% pleased with the quality, the lining, and the thickness. When I say I will use it for years to come, it's because I know I'll be able to do just that!

 That growing bump will probably hinder me from zipping this guy up in a few months, but there is always now...and next year. :)

 I paired the jacket with a LBD and a plaid scarf, but I also can't wait to throw it on with a pair of jeans!
[LBD is Susana Monaco and scarf is from a visit to Scotland in 2009.]

 And you have to see the fabulousness of it without the scarf too. It's edgy; I love it!

 Here are some of my other favorites from The Palm Tree Boutique!

5 on Friday | Cozy Things

ONE | "FANCY" COFFEE
Red cups (and a new drive-thru close to TJMaxx + Home Goods) have me craving Starbucks even more than usual. But that's just not practical in my frugal mcshmoogal world. So I settled on buying some whipped cream at the Teets. Add a little cinnamon on top, and voila! A fancy coffee from home.

Yesterday's at home coffee date with the hubs

TWO | WOOD BURNING FIRES

Marky and I have had more nights with fires this week than without! We're both excited about our "new" fireplace tools that we've compiled from consignment and Craigslist. All golden, all matching, all steals! That's how I roll.

 And watching The Office, of course. We finish the series and restart it again...never gets old.

THREE | AMELIA

Sigh. She melts me. I apologize in advance for how this will happen with our child too. But seriously? Her back legs under her chin and her front legs outstretched?! Crazy tinypup. She was dreaming in full force during this pic too. :)

FOUR | MARSHALL'S FINDS
A new Marshall's just opened dangerously close to our house. As in less than 2 miles. Eeeeek! I snagged these Pottery Barn-esque stockings this week. And I REALLY want to "need" these lamps. But I don't. I think. I'm still thinking about how to change that... ;)

In case you didn't catch it on Insta...the stockings are $14.99 A PAIR!

FIVE | CHRISTMAS CONUNDRUM
Everyday since November 1, I've battled the itch to bust out the Christmas decorations. I'm trying to hold out till mid-November, and there are a few things tying me over: listening to Christmas music, drinking that "fancy" coffee and hot chocolate with whipped cream/marshmallows, wood burning fires, flannel pajamas, and busting out last season's Tar-jay wine glasses. The struggle is real, folks. I stinkin' LOVE CHRISTMAS!

Disclaimer: It's "wine," not wine!

P.S. Big week next week. Got a super exciting These Are a Few of My Favorite Things  announcement comin' at ya with details on Tuesday! (See last year's post.) ...Soooo if you want to start brainstorming your Christmas list...I encourage it and give you full permission. ;)

Happy fall Friday!

Paint Pen Pumpkins

I don't know about y'all but I wasn't ready to part with my uncarved WalMart pumpkins just yet. (Sidenote: who knew WalMart had such pretty pumpkins?! Anyway!...) I saw this picture on Pinterest from the Glitter Guide. Feeling inspired, I grabbed my trusty gold paint pen, and now these pretties are sitting beside our fireplace.

You could also do this with the fake pumpkins they sell at places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby. That way you could use them annually!

P.S. Confession: I feel like this post is a guise. The truth is that all weekend I've been asking myself the question, "So when do I bust out the Christmas decorations?"

P.P.S I never wait till Thanksgiving. Christmas is my favorite time of year...I have to have all my favorite decor out for longer than a month!!!!

Cheers to the season!

In Fall We...A DIY with Your Family Traditions

I got a little crafty this past weekend. After drooling over this fall post from Charming in Charlotte, one of my fave blogs to read, I knew I wanted to create little something special in our home. I especially loved the personalized chalkboard with her family traditions that hangs in her foyer. It [clearly] inspired me to take on the same project. Cheers for the inspiration, Mallory!

Since the chalkboard in our kitchen is my meal-planning menu (and I am actually using it this week!), I dug up this old frame from the garage. No really...I found it by a trash can at Wrightsville Beach Park one day, so naturally I snagged it, stuffed it in my trunk, and waited for the perfect inspiration to get crafty with it.

Materials
Old frame (find one at a thrift store...or splurge on a new one at Michaels using a 40% off--or actually it's 50% this week!-- coupon!)
White posterboard/thick, white paper(if needed)
Scissors
Gold paint pen

Method
Cut poster board/paper to appropriate frame size.
Draft your doodles and ideas on scrap paper...start brainstorming!
In your best lettering, freehand your family traditions away. The more personal, the better!
Hang and enjoy. :)

I hung it in our teensy foyer. This space still needs lots of sprucing and attention (and is screaming for some flowers), but adding the frame helped merry up the empty wall effortlessly! I love walking by it multiple times a day everyday!

Now...what family traditions do y'all have in fall!? Do tell!
