Christmas 2015

When people say that Christmas is even more fun when you have kids, it's every bit of true and more. Having Nancy around this Christmas heightened our joy, celebration, and love throughout the season. I hear (and believe) that it only gets better!!! Don't mind me while I post oh-so-many photos documenting our first Christmas as Mommy and Daddy.

We started the evening at cocktail hour with our extended family. This event was clearly right up Nancy's alley.

We enjoyed Moscow Mules (thanks Jane!!!), and then headed back to my mom's for a small family dinner.

Mimi and her best girl. The way they love each other is so dear to me!

Nancy with her Mimi and her great-grandparents. I just can't handle Nancy and Chief looking at each other in this picture.

My forever lovah

How he wanted this picture to go. | How I wanted this picture to go.

My family exchanges a lot of gifts on Christmas Eve and leaves the morning for the kiddos and Santa. I like that little tradition.

My mom gave my mimi a sweet notecard set of quotes about parenthood and family. I loved this one. And my Mimi's made-from-scratch ginger cookie on the left? Each Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, my cousins and I consume about 9350125 of these.

Epitome of gift opening this year: yum!

Nancy's first soccer ball! (Or maybe Daddy will have her calling it a football?) I don't know who was more excited: Nancy or Tina?

Tasting everything with those 4 new teeth!

My whole heart for my whole life!

"You guysssss stopppppp!" (And, hey, top teethies!)

"Is this how it works, Mom?"

The biggest present was for the littlest Pie!

Car: Pink; Blue (on sale) | Plaid Flannel Pajamas (similar) | Hanna Andersson PJs - SOLD OUT (I know you're jealous. ;))
Nancy got a pink pushcar! (Complete with three cupholders and storage in the hood. Woo!) I forsee many family walks in the future with this thang!

Judgin' while she's rollin'.

Straight up chilling. I kept sitting her up and she would purposely slouch back down and put her feet up like this every. single. time. I can't!

These Three Things...

Christmas.
Family.
Jesus.

I'm going to soak and relish in these gifts though the rest of the week, sweet friends.

I'll be back soon because my little baby turns 8 months old on Christmas Eve, so that requires an update. :) Another thing on the agenda while I take a blogging break for the rest of the week? Create a 2015 family yearbook though Mixbook! I'm also hoping to finally put together my pregnancy mixbook too during this short hiatus. You know me...gotta take advantage of the sales while they're hot: use code MRYMS for 55% off through today. On that note...I've gotta get moving while Nancy is napping. Goal: have at least one of these books done today! It's time to relive 2015 and pregnancy. I've got my coffee piping hot (in my new Christmas mug from my sissy!) with a pup in my lap, a blanket over my legs, the best Christmas candle burning, and the view of my living room tree while some Dave Barnes Christmas plays in the background. Sigh. Life is good.

From the bottom of my heart, Merry Christmas from our family to yours. Thank you for supporting Cheers Y'all. This is a dream endeavor of mine. We're sooooo close to being able to fill y'all in on all that is in store for 2016. I can't wait!!! CHEERS! MERRY CHRISTMAS! I love y'all!

Merry Weekend

Phew! What a week it has been!! From a sleigh ride, to exchanging gifts with my sissy, to Christmas with my dad, to a Christmas lunch with extended family all in one weekend, we've really let the merriness begin (and overflow!) over here. We have been Christmas-ing full force, nonstop. It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Post "sleigh" riding around sissy & Spyspy's neighborhood with the best of them!

Mark thought we should be obnoxiously joyful, so our so-called Joyful Pie...judged.

Even when she is cold, tired, and over it she still completely melts me with those baby blues. #momprobs

Auntie got Nancy this precious Oh Joy shirt since joy is the name of our game this year with our girl.
(Did you catch my impromptu Saturday post? Hope got me these and I'm obsessed.)

Unrelated but noteworthy: Nancy had her first bubble bath! It was daddy's idea and special grocery list request.

Crawling and hamming it up. I think she looks like a little Christmas present with that red bow!

Santa encounter #2: You again? | Oh, you're giving me a gift? | I don't care! I still don't wike youuuu!

It doesn't matter who she's with...she's not a fan (unless she's distracted by eating an apple through her fresh food feeder).

We are tired. Really tired. But our hearts are full, and celebrating the birth of Jesus is right around the corner! Merry Christmas!

Last Minute Gift Idea: Lace Up Chukka

Last night we exchanged gifts with my sister and brother-in-law before they head out of town for Christmas. Hope always has a special knack for gift-giving, and this year was no exception. In case you're last minute shopping, I wanted to share the newest addition to my shoe collection with you: the sueded fringe lace-up chukka. Are these cool or what!?!

 Joggers (old) similar | Chukkas

These pass the sister test. What's that you ask? You know an item passes the sister test with flying colors when we can't share because we each want our own. That's how awesome these are. Hope was conveniently wearing her pair around yesterday before I unwrapped mine. I--also conveniently--told her how much I liked them at least five times not knowing she had a pair waiting for me! Thanks, sissy!!!

Last but not least: these come in whole sizes. If you wear a half-size, size up. Use code GINORMOUS at checkout for 40% off, making them ring in at less than $15.  I have them paired with joggers today, but I will be wearing them with pretty much everything from now on since I will hardly be taking them off my feet!!!

Friday Favorites

ONE | SLOW COOKER HOT CHOCOLATE
I made slow cooker hot chocolate for our life group last night thanks to Shay's wayyyyy too amazing for words recipe. So. Darn. Good. And the smell that was lingering around the house...oh my word! I'm glad that turned out well because I wound up burning the chocolate peppermint cookies in the meantime. They were slice and bake. Go figure. :)

TWO | A CHRISTMAS PIE
My sweet blogging friend, Brenda, sent this surprise in the mail. I was wondering what was from Target when it arrived on my doorstep! (Thanks Brenda! We love you!!!) Pie looks precious rocking this girly tee for her first Christmas! And in true #momprobs form, I couldn't chose a favorite picture because I love them all.

Shirt {kids clothing is buy 1 get one 50% off!} | Waffle Knit Leggings | Moccs

THREE | [UN]DIAPER BAG
I'm so glad y'all loved my [un]diaper bag post and details yesterday! It kind of made me want to buy it again in another color, but that's just unnecessary. :)

FOUR | NATIVITY
I love watching little Nancypie play with her Fisher Price Nativity. I hope to candidly document this little scene through the years as she grows and learns the true meaning of Christmas.

FIVE | GLITTER
If you've been around these parts for a while, you know I love Dress Your Tech to keep my desktop background fresh and exciting. Well, this week they put out...sequins and glitter. I chose the below number for bringing in the new year (though these gold sequins were a close second).

Our Family Photos 2015

The same day we took family pictures in Nancy's nursery, our sweet friend, Cameron, snapped a few pictures for our Christmas card. We did both shoots super quickly during Marky's lunch break. (It sure is nice to have him work a hop skip and a jump from home!) Here are some favorites from our Christmas card photo session. My favorite part is that they were taken in our backyard that Mark has been working so hard on lately!

The pick for our 2015 Christmas Card!

 Her blue eyes pierce me!

 Judging Tina

It is so nice to have these images captured in our new home. We are thrilled to have laid our roots down in Charlotte for good. It's a wonderful place to raise a family, and I am thankful that we will be able to look back on photos of the beginning of growing our little family in this city for years upon years to come...
