Our Family Shoot in Nancy's Nursery

Remember these photos? I always imagined taking them in our home with our newborn baby. Living at my mama's while we were in between buying and selling meant that little vision wasn't going to happen. And that was okay. Instead, Cameron captured what I like to call our slice of heaven in the hospital. Fast forward, and--well--great things come to those who wait. Here we are 6 months later in our home, in Nancy's beautiful nursery, and overflowing with more love and joy than we could have ever fathomed before!

Thank you again, sweet angel Cam for capturing our little family in our favorite room.

These tiny best buds crack me up in this pic. Tina! And Nancy obsessed with Tina.

 Because Daddy couldn't resist...

If you've ever wondered why we call her Joyful, this is a small sliver of why.

Looking back on our newborn photos that Cam took, I noticed that the very last picture she captured when leaving was the quote outside of our hospital room door. When I looked back at it today, I cried. "Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile is the source of your joy."  Little did we know the joy that awaited us in the months to come. We are so grateful to God for our sweet Joyful Nancypie. Thank you, Jesus, for choosing us to be her mommy and daddy. What a grace gift. Glory to God!

Nancy's Nursery

Four months into her life, Nancy finally has a nursery and, boy, was it worth the wait! It's currently the only completed room in our house, and that's because it's my favorite. This room--by far--has the most thought, articulation, and love put into it. I created an inspiration board for her room earlier this year, and it wound up being pretty on point! The only "big" change I made was changing the room color from sea salt to pink. Since we have sea salt throughout our house in various other rooms, I'm so glad I listened to my mom and sister and went for pale pink.

The first time Mark walked into this room, he said, "Wow. It's so white in here." That, my friends, was music to my ears. Welcome to this bright, light space...Nancy's nursery.

In lieu of a changing table, I use this bed to change Nancy. The bed is a family heirloom and was also my bed as a little girl. My mama also used it as a "changing table" throughout the years. It's the perfect height for the job.

One of my dearest, best friends, Lizzie, gifted Nancy this amazing abstract painting. She is an an incredible artist. Lizzie used 1 Peter 1:6-7 to inspire this painting. It is absolutely my favorite part of the nursery. This piece of art is special on so many levels, and I cannot wait to watch Nancy grow with it throughout her life.

In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:6-7 ESV

I created this mini gallery wall by combning Design Love Fest's Dress Your Tech images + PicMonkey for text + Dollar Tree frames spray painted gold. Simple and cost friendly! My favorite is the middle right. Nancy's name means "grace," so I love having its definition in her room.

This candle is the candle of all candles for a baby nursery, and it's made by one of my girlfriends! Lavender + baby powder = OMG perfection (especially after a stinky diaper change).

I knew I wanted to mix patterns in the crib. I am in love with the herringbone on the bumper and how both the gold patterns are actually shiny, metallic gold.

This lovely teapot is a reminder of Nancy's baby shower--a tea party

The nursery guard. Truth is she tried to photo bomb almost all of these pictures. Bless this protective big sister, Tina!

At the end of the day, Nancy's nursery is filled with so much LOVE. When I rock Nancy at night before she goes to bed, looking at the big L-O-V-E over the bed reminds me of 1 Cor 13:13. Before I lie her sweet sleepy self in her crib each night, I say this verse aloud to her and tell her I love her. This is a special, sacred place in our house. I pray our family grows in love as we grow in this home!

I Heart | The Crochet Envy

I might not have crib sheets yet, but I do have Nancy Hope's first blanket. And you know what? I think it's perfect.

Call me craycray, but I've been daydreaming of a nursery with a crochet heart blanket since, well, very specifically: this pin, pre-pregnancy, 32 weeks ago (Pinterest told me that little detail). My daydream came true when I happened upon the loveliest brand new little shop on Etsy, The Crochet Envy.

Swoon. This beautiful crochet detail. Handmade with love. Jessica, The Crochet Envy's shop owner, is the sweetest and such a delight to work with. She let me approve the yarn colors once the spools she ordered for me arrived; furthermore, she sent me sneak peek pictures on Instagram the whole way through my ordering process! The entire experience felt exceptionally personal and customized.

In the land of Etsy where handmade anything is beautifully aplenty, The Crochet Envy specifically caught my eye because of the option to add softer, more baby friendly minky fabric on the back of the blanket. I can't imagine anything more snuggly for my baby girl! I chose the light pink rose swirl fabric backing, but there are a plethora of different texture and color options from which you can choose. The selection is amazing.

Wouldn't this make a sweet Valentine surprise for your babe or a mama-to-be? You can order the blanket in any yarn/minky color combination you wish! And (!!)  The Crochet Envy is exclusively offering Cheers Y'all readers free shipping with code CHEERSYALL. Enjoy shopping small and supporting handmade! :)

Oh, and just so we're clear, this is just the beginning of pictures you will see with this blanket. Just you wait until Nancy comes and I can photoshoot it up with my little babe and my new most favorite blanket of all time!

Disclaimer: Per Cheers Y'all's sponsorship policy, I received this product in exchange for a review; however, all opinions are my own.

Nancy's Nursery Inspiration

It's obvious that I'm having the time of my life conjuring up a nursery for our best girl, baby Nancy. Today I'm spilling the beans on my ideas. I cannot wait to see how it comes together through the next several months. (And I really can't wait to see her in it come April!)

Source Links + Plans...

Wall Color: SW Sea Salt | When we bought and painted our home, I had my mom pick out the color of the 2nd bedroom. Knowing we would convert it to a nursery at some point, and I didn't want to have to repaint it. Mom nailed it with this color. I am in love! And, yes, total perks of being the daughter of a very talented interior designer. (Thanks, mommy!!!)

Heart Pillow | Ordered this weekend in the biggest size it can come! (24"x24") Nancy's nursery will have a full size white iron bed in it too, and this will be the big, ol' happy accent pillow on that bed. This adds to my throw pillow obsession. But I mean, this pillow is practically perfection. ;)

Lovely Pillow | I got this precious needlepoint pillow last Christmas. I love it so much, I even got one for my mum-in-law! English folks use the word "lovely" in their vernacular a lot more than we do, so that sweet little words reminds me of our family across the pond. Though I've enjoyed this pillow in our room for the past year, I can't help but think it's even more perfect for Nancy's nursery.

Gold Dot Crib Skirt | I mentioned last week that Hope and Mom were top secret elves and tracked this down for me before it became unavailable. They rock. They bought the very last one in the southeeast off the showroom floor!!! It was a happy surprise Christmas gift to open. I swoon for the frilly girlishness of the tulle fabric!

Gold Herringbone Fabric | The crib bumper will be covered in this! Even though the order was custom, bumpers seem to be expensive anyway...so it didn't cost any more than one from a retailer would have been. (And it helped to have a coupon code to add to the additonal sale that was going on when we ordered it! Woop!)

Slipcovered Swivel Glider | I obviously love white. And when I had a veteran mama tell me about the perks of bleach + being able to wash/dry clean because of a slipcover, I was sold. This is a purchase I want to make once and reuse through all of our future babies. Potential upkeep and quality were clearly key factors! We are ordering the chair through a family friend -- be sure to go check out Lee Industries!

Minky Heart Crochet Blanket | Oh gosh, y'all. I can't tell you how excited I am about this sweet blanket. I can't wait to hang it over her crib, throw it on her in the stroller and around her in her carseat...yep, this blanket has me daydreaming. I happened upon a this new Etsy shop after Christmas, and I couldn't be more excited to receive Nancy's first blanket. I have been dreaming of a heart crochet blanket for her for months now. And the fact that this shop adds the more baby friendly minky fabric on the back!?! Y'all have got to check it out. Like, now. I promise you wanna see a close up of this precious blanket goodness right this moment!! Nancy's crochet blanket will be cream with a pink heart and super comfy light pink rose swirl minky fabric on the back. EEEEEE! Bless it!!! More details and a shop feature to come in weeks ahead...!

Rectangle Gold Frames | Just a reference for the 8x10 frames I'll have on the wooden hutch in her nursery. Remember it from the guest room? Truth be told, I get my frames from Dollar Tree. Boom.

Printables (DIY using Design Love Fest background + PicMonkey)  | I made a set of 6 of these with little sayings inspired by Pinterest. I chose this background since it goes perfectly with the nursery's color scheme. I included the meaning of "grace" (pictured above) because Nancy in fact means "grace."

Abstract Beach Art (Inspiration) | We love art in our little family. I want some sort of abstract art hanging above her crib pulling together all of our nursery colors and framed in gold. Oh so lovely for our little lady and something I hope she can keep forever.

Crib | Just used this image for inspiration. We are using a white hand-me-down crib form a family friend! (Thanks Sally!!!!! :))

Dresser | Inspiration...did you see that price tag? Puh-lease. I am doing my best Craigslist stalking. I'm determined to  fancy up a Craigslist find with gold ring pulls! I want to play off the bedside table I snagged from Marshalls and jazzed up a few weeks ago.

Gold Bedside Lamps | More inspiration...I want gold but I don't love these. (But if you do I have seen some like this pair at Home Goods!) I'm on the hunt at HomeGoods/TJMaxx/Marshalls! And I'm having total buyer's remorse over these lamps (scroll down to #4) that I should've snagged when they were available at Marshalls. Ugh! Kicking myself. So if you see them anywhere, holler at me.

Gold Letters | Inspiration. I love RH, but I don't love their price tags. I want to spell out "NANCY" in gold. I am going to order and spray paint these form Hobby Lobby once they restock the letter Y. So yeah...Hobby Lobby, I've been waiting. When are you going to restock that Y?!

Faux Sheepskin Rug | Planning on snagging one or two of these from Ikea when I'm back in Charlotte! I want to throw one over the rocker for some added texture.

Cheers to daydreaming and slowly seeing things all come together!
